What does a high-country hangar for the Flight For Life Colorado helicopter have in common with low-cost sports helmets for kids? Support from the St. Anthony Health Foundation.

The mission of St. Anthony Health Foundation is to raise and allocate philanthropic funds, primarily for the hospital's programs and services that benefit the underserved, the elderly and the community. Our focus is on areas and issues that enhance the hospitals' mission but do not fall within the normal parameters of the hospital or its budget.
Key to the Foundation’s work is its successful Healthy Communities initiative. This multi-faceted effort provides funding for a wide range of health-related programs and services, including:
Our Family Medicine Centers in Denver and Westminster that care for thousands of ethnically diverse and medically underserved residents each year.
Flight For Life Colorado, our pioneering hospital-based air transport service.
Yaffe Hospitality House, a no-charge "bed and breakfast" for out-of-town family members of hospitalized patients.
The Injury Prevention/Helmet Promotion, a collaborative effort with government agencies and area businesses to increase sports helmet use.
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program at St. Anthony North Hospital, where a trained, on-call nurse examiner supports and obtains forensic evidence from sexual assault victims.
Lake School-Based Health Center, a collaborative effort to provide preventive and primary care to underserved children.
St. Anthony's Pastoral Nurse Program, a holistic effort that serves the poor, elderly, underserved, disenfranchised, uninsured, at risk and general community.
Support of health clinics for the poor, including La Clinica Tepeyac and the Inner City Health Center.
Community Work Experience Program, a cooperative effort with Jefferson County Social Services to help welfare recipients gain skills needed to enter the job market.
Recently, St. Anthony Health Foundation has helped secure funding for Flight For Life Colorado air ambulance services and underwrite construction of the Flight For Life Colorado hangar at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center. The expansion of the Emergency Department at St. Anthony Hospital North was made possible, in part, through support from the Foundation. And the Foundation provides funds to the Patient Financial Assistance Program to cover aftercare expenses—from medications to emergency housing and food—for indigent patients.
