Hard Hat and High Heels
St. Anthony Health Foundation’s Hard Hat and High Heels Gala, at Exdo Event Center on April 15th, was a tremendous success! Platinum Sponsor GE Johnson Construction Company, Gold Sponsors RK Mechanical and Sturgeon Electric, and a multitude of Silver, Bronze, and Table Sponsors, and silent-auction donors, supported this fundraising celebration to cap off the three-year capital campaign for the new St. Anthony Hospital.
650 guests enjoyed themselves as they cruised the silent auction during the cocktail hour. Upon entering the dining area, guests were greeted with construction-themed decorations, including centerpieces featuring Tonka Trucks loaded with flowers. The theme continued to the wait staff, who wore all-black uniforms topped with a yellow hard hat.

Following dinner, the program featured a welcome by Leslie Strate, President and CDO of the foundation and a moving speech by Dr. Raymond A. Mencini, St. Anthony Hospital’s Interim President and CEO. Dr. Mencini honored the contributions of the many people, from the founding Sisters to today’s physicians and associates, whose commitment, passion and compassion, in providing the best of patient care, made St. Anthony the outstanding hospital it is today.
Lakewood’s Mayor, Bob Murphy, welcomed St. Anthony Hospital into the community of Lakewood; and Sr. Nancy Hoffman, SC, Centura’s former Senior Vice President of Mission and Ministry, spoke of the importance of continuing to support the founding Sisters’ legacy.
Afterward, guests danced the night away to the sounds of Soul X!
The Hard Hat and High Heels Gala raised a net total of $225,000 to benefit the new St. Anthony Hospital.
Thank you for making this event a success!
